Development Impact For Nigeria has been in existence since 1999 initially starting of as CIFN, an ecumenical agency working mainly with the church in Nigeria to address the issues of HIV/AIDS Awareness, Prevention and Care/Support.

We have now evolved into being a holistic development agency working in partnership with several Nigerian based Community Based Organisations, NGOs, Schools, Faith Groups and Local Government Agencies.

Strategic Development Plan

Following our new 5 year Strategic Development Plan 2008 -2012 DIFN will be focusing on the following:

  1. To serve as a “Think Tank” and “Solutions Provider” for Nigerian community living in the UK and other interested individuals and groups. Focusing on discussing and funding Nigeria focused Millennium Development Goals [MDGs] and other related development / social policy issues.
  2. To establish job creation schemes in Nigeria.
  3. To develop a volunteer programme utilising the skills of UK based Nigerians and other interested individuals and groups in the area of development, youth & community work, social work, education, community health, social policy development and local government administration.

A special DIFN volunteer programme is also aimed at young people of Nigerian decent in the UK between the ages of 17 to 25 years interested in either a GAP year programme or a shorter placement during the Easter or Summer periods.
