Job Creation Initiative

From 2008 DIFN will be actively involved in offering viable and workable solutions to the growing issues of unemployment in Nigeria.
Our target group will be the poor and vulnerable. Particular attention will be paid to women groups, the disable, young people and people living with HIV/AIDS.
Initially the work will be through our main Nigerian partner – Ipaja Community Link. As funding increases DIFN will also work with other local community based organisations, faith groups and interested local government councils.

Our Job Creation Initiative will involve the following strategies:

  • Establishing local skills acquisition for training people in local identified vocational skills
  • Establishing local business support / enterprise centres offer advice, mentoring and micro finance.
  • Developing local youth apprenticeship schemes.
  • Setting up and directly running social enterprises and local cottage industries to be a source of alternative employment options to community members.

DIFN is a registered charity in England and Wales (No. 1091028)
