Apr: 5 day training on Community work skills for church workers. 20 people attended
Sept 5th– 7th: 3 day training for Ipaja Community Health Project Mothers + Babies clinic staff and other people from other churches. Close to 20 attended.
Nov: 1 week. Community Health Skills training for Youths in Ipaja this led to the birth of IYP.
2001
August: 2 weeks training for youth. About 12 attended (2 of them IYP members).
2002
May 1st – 3rd : 3 days training for M+B Clinic staff.
August 14th -15th : Empowerment Training for AGA members.
August 23rd – 25th : 3 day training for church workers on COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SKILLS + one week training for youths on DISCIPLESHIP.
August: 2 day workshop with Journalists for Christ ‘Media Development workshop’ looking at sensitizing the media to issues of poverty alleviation and HIV/AIDS awareness.
Nov: Teenage Pregnancy/HIV/AIDS workshop at one public secondary school – Abesan High School.
2003
March 11th -13th: Child-to-Child training for Pry School Head teachers, classroom teachers and LGEA officials.
Aug 9th -13th: 4-days workshop on “HIV/AIDS AND THE CHURCH” for churches, CBOS, and NGOs. 49 people attended from 21 organisations and churches.
Aug 18th – 29th: – 2 week Youth training. “Discipleship and HIV/AIDS” 16 Youths attended.
Nov 1st – 30th: Work with Catherine Widdicombe for one month on training at Lagos Resource Centre. Training was for Church workers on Social work skills.
2004
May 27th : Child-to-Child – Children Day training for children, Topic: Community Mobilization.
August 3rd -4th : 2 days workshop on “HIV/AIDS AND THE CHURCH”. 121 participants. From 55 churches and organisations from all over the country participated.
August 5th -7th : 3 days – basic counseling skills training for church workers. 16 people from about 8 churches attended.
August 17th – 21st : First Youth Summer Holiday Training Camp. 1 week. 51 attended. 11 of them were youth and 40 primary school children.
October 29th : One day conference on HOW THE CHURCH CAN ENCOURAGE VCT. 54 attended from 51 churches. All from Lagos and Ogun state.
2005
Feb 9th : Valentine Seminar – “Having Fun without Sex”. For secondary school students. From 4 sec schools Over 50 students and 10 teachers attended.
April 16th : one day HIV/AIDS conference in Ibadan in collaboration with Soteria Trust. Tagged “Making a difference for you and your World”. Close to 500 participants was recorded.
May 6th – 8th : 3 days training on “Rehabilitation/Management Skills for those that work with disabled – at The Redemptionist Centre Ibadan. 24 attended.
May 27th : Children’s Day. Empowerment Training. For Child –to – Child Club members on how to produce body cream and mosquito repellent. Kids came from the C-to-C clubs. 20 attended – 5 from each school. Plus the children’s party.
June: started taking HIV/AIDS referral from LG maternity clinic.
June 16th -18th : Field test of the manual, ‘Family Life, HIV and the Church’ for Strategies for Hope.18Church leaders attended from 10 different churches. 10 women and 8 men.
August 16th – 18th : Basic counseling skills training at Ibadan, 32 Church workers were trained from about 10 churches within Ibadan. HAAG did mobilization.
August 23rd – 27th : Youth camp. 76 people on camp. 26 schools, primary and secondary, undergraduate and newly university graduate. “!

2006
May - Children Day Celebration with over 40 schools and 500 students in attendance. Activities done included discussions on child health, moral issues, poetry sports and march pass competitions.
June – 1 Day Conference themed - A CALL FOR THE NEW PROPHETS: Putting Social Justice, Community Development & Poverty Alleviation On The Church Agenda. Representatives from over 40 churches and church based organisations attended.
August & September - Lagos Summer Camp and Youth Leaders and Teacher Training. Youth Leaders and Teachers received initial training on Living Values Education Programme [LVEP] with more to follow in February 2007.
DIFN yearly Children Summer Camp took place over 5 days with over 100 children and young people in attendance. In 2007 DIFN hopes to take a volunteer group from the UK.
December
In conjunction with our partner organisation in Lagos – Ipaja Community Link, held the World AIDS Day celebrations in several secondary schools.

- Hosted 2 women development and empowerment workshops
- Hosted a situational analysis survey with Ipaja Local Government
- Hosted 2 workshops for local church leaders in Ipaja Local Government on the role of the church in community development and HIV/AIDS work
- Held teacher training in Values Based Education and Child to Child Health Education
- Hosted and ran 3 Value for Positive Citizenship workshops for young Nigerian professionals [2 in Lagos and 1 in Kano]. From next year DIFN will be rolling out the Values for Positive Citizenship programme for young Nigerian professionals throughout Nigeria
