A) DIFN Diaspora Volunteering Scheme (DVS)
Short term volunteering opportunities [3 to 6 weeks] targeting Nigerians living in the UK, and other professionals from the African / Caribbean and Black British communities in the UK.
DVS placements will mainly be in the areas of: Teacher Training; Community Development; Social Work [especially Child Protection]; Youth Enterprise Development; Local Government Development and Community Health Education / Mental Health Education.
Diaspora volunteers go out either as groups or individually and are primarily involved in essential capacity building training and organisational development coaching and mentoring working with Nigeria based professionals to reverse the Brain Drain by contributing to Brain Gain.
NB: The first of these teams will be going out to Nigeria from January 3rd 2010 for 3 weeks. If you would like to be considered to be part of this team please send an Expression of Interest with your cv to volunteering@difn.org.uk

B) Project 17/25
Project 17/25 offers global youth work placements in Nigeria to young people between the ages of 17 to 25 years. DIFN is especially keen to engage with young people of Nigerian heritage and young people from the African Caribbean and Black British communities.
