DIFN actively uses volunteers in our work in Nigeria.DIFN was funded by Department for International Development, VSO, UK and Christian Aid, UK to run several of our volunteer programmes. We also run self funded volunteering placements throughout the year, especially to UK based university students and new graduates seeking some experience in international development.
DIFN’s Volunteering programmes are:
- Diaspora Volunteering: Aimed primarily at mature UK based Nigerian professionals [and other mature professionals interested in Nigeria] in the areas such as: – Teaching, Early Years Education, Social Work, Community / Youth Work, Counselling and Vocational Skills Training. Duration of volunteer placements are for a minimum of 3 weeks
- Young Adult Volunteer Scheme: Aimed at young adults between the ages of 18 to 25 who are keen for affordable and meaningful international development placements in Lagos, Nigeria. Priority areas are in Vocational Skills Training, Early Years Education and Children/Youth Work. Placement duration is from 3 weeks.
NB: At the present time our placements are mainly with our partners in Lagos State and neighboring South Western states of Nigeria
DIFN can offer group or individual placements at any time of the year.
